His Imperial Majesty, Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, The Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, is the –th monarch to ascend the historic throne. Born on September 19, 1948, into the esteemed Ajimoko Royal House of Ijesaland in Osun State, Nigeria, Oba Haastrup embodies a blend of royal heritage, academic excellence, public service, and philanthropic commitment.
Early Life and Education
Oba Haastrup’s formative years were marked by a pursuit of knowledge and leadership. He commenced his education at Eko Boys’ High School, Lagos (1963–1967), proceeded to the Federal School of Science (1968–1969) for his A-levels, and later earned a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Howard University in Washington, D.C, graduating in 1974.
Public Service and Political Career
Upon returning to Nigeria in 1981, Oba Haastrup ventured into politics. He was elected as the Deputy Governor of Osun State, serving from January 2, 1992, to November 17, 1993, under Governor Isiaka Adeleke. During his tenure, he contributed to various developmental initiatives and later chaired several national committees, including the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation and electoral committees for gubernatorial, senatorial, and representative primaries.
He founded ENL Consortium Limited in 2002, which has since developed into a conglomerate, diversifying with excellence into many areas such as power, port operations, hospitality, estate development, road and building construction, quarry operations and gold mining (under development), all in Nigeria. The visionary leadership of Prince C. A Haastrup has continuously steered the company to relevance in the business community. He has been Chairman of many non-political and political establishments such as Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation, Electoral Committee for Gubernatorial, Senatorial and Representative Primary Elections, among others.
Philanthropy and Community Development
A dedicated philanthropist, Oba Haastrup established the Clement Adesuyi Haastrup Foundation (CAHF) on September 19, 2008, coinciding with his 60th birthday. The foundation began by awarding scholarships to 39 undergraduates of Ijesa origin and has since continued to support educational initiatives for indigent students both locally and internationally.

Ascension to the Throne
Following the passing of Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II in September 2024, Oba Haastrup was appointed as the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland in December 2024. His coronation ceremony is to be held in May 2025, marking the beginning of a new era for Ijesaland.
